Title

Abstract

People are accustomed just to live without thinking about their environmental footprint, which now is so terrific. The technology and the society are evolving fast, but nature doesn’t evolve on a level with them, and there is gap. Unsustainable use of the planet resources now creates a real threat not only for further generations, but already for ours. The famous expression of Madame de Pompadour “After us the deluge” doesn’t work anymore. It is obvious that we are to change the situation right now. The most efficient way is to improve school system. We suggest creating a new school for all comers. Our idea is to found the “Canvas School”. The “Canvas School” is a special kind of school. This school will be different from up-to-date schools in lots of aspects, such as architecture and design, the way of generating energy, wastes recycling, and valuable contribution to the nature renewal. As the “Canvas School” is still a school, there will be an educating program with curriculum and extra curriculum activities. The “Canvas School” offers four-sided education program consists of science, art, ecological activities, and physical growth and development. The main resources that will be necessary for realizing the project of the “Canvas School” are land, money, and willingness. We’d like to start the project here, in Irkutsk, Russia, and if it succeeds, move on to other countries. As Russia is huge, acquiring land will not be a problem. In the project there will be involved local governments, non-governmental organizations, and charity which will be the main sources of financing the project. All of them are stakeholders together with parents, students, and society. The third resource, willingness to execute the project, we already has. The project of the “Canvas School” seems to be beneficial. However, there might be some risks which are to be managed. For mitigating the risks it is necessary to use such functions of management as planning and controlling as well as the market research. We believe that such kind of school not only will educate children, but also will show them that the environment should to be protected, and that living green is a norm with lots of advantages. It is really great to show kids another way of living, another way of thinking, another way of doing business, and so on. We all now need the alternative that is healthier than the reality today. And such a school can help us in this initiative!

good one, i like the execution of video and the quality of exec summary ;D The most important aspect of your solutions is that there are resources for making it real and probably parents will invest money into something that has double meaning, education of children + protection/awareness about environment

Overall, well done

Ana,
It's a nice and really useful idea to give some lessons in such a school for both children and adults. It can be very interesting experience to teach some adults who have open minds to become more sustainable and more responsible for the future. Thank you)

Onestly ,great idea and i will give you my vote right now.....What i like abouth your idea-you pay attention abouth nature and you think abouth future generations, how their childhood should look like...and next generations will have necessity for school like this ...why? a lot of childrens are all day in home on computers new time get the new costumes and they need to live life in real sense,to talk in real world to play with ball ,to have real friends just to be childrens ...that is all from me at the moment and i think i help to you to give more reasons and more why somebody have to vote for you,...Now i need to recommend to check our solution "smart homes" and i am part of team "the positive thinkers" :)

2 Vesna:
Thank you for you comment and you worm words! I believe that it is quite scaring that children today lose the sense of reality with the technologies, computers, mobile phones, and so on. It is hard to imagine a kid who likes just to walk – most of them prefer vehicles; lots of kids prefer to play football using PC while it is possible to play football outdoors. And there are lots of examples. I hope that creating such schools can help kids to see that the world around them is beautiful and fragile as well. Showing them that living in harmony with nature is not only useful but fun as well can help to save the planet for future generations!

2 Tolga:
Thank you! We consider that the combination of sustainable technologies with awareness of kinds that it is possible to combine them can lead us to a future in which there will not be such a problem for changing the way of living in order to survive!

I honestly love your idea. though it pretty seems that these kind of support and causes are greatly seen in schools around the world, but there are only some schools that focuses on environmental protection while learning and having fun purely.

Your video is good, direct to the point and the way you flashed the words are interesting, since you let the viewers read them and that made us understood everything c:

great job!

Mihaela, thank you very much! we have also thought that the idea of influencing children can be advantageous. it is the shortest way to change the minds of people))

Jude, of course the way of recieving foundations are not extraordinary, but still they should work.some increasing of awareness of sustainable development and showing the way how to be green together with games and fun is so crucial today, so that it is vital to convince kids that it is natural and necessary. thank you for your comment!

Your idea is great. Since the resources for completing the project are rather significant (imagine how hard it is to get all licenses, land and personnel), you may start with a little experimental educational camp on the shores of Baikal to prove thу efficiency of your initiative.

I believe, many parents would like to send their children to such a vacation.

Good luck!

Lyubov' Govorina

Georgy,
You idea to start this project here near the Baikal lake, with the small scale of the school is great! Here it will be easier to start as we live there, we are able to create a team for executing this project, we know some laws (and can learn or consult about others). It is a common knowledge that a good beginning makes a good ending. I believe such a beginning can really help to implement such an idea of eco-friendly schools worldwide! Thank you a lot!

Krishna,
Thank you very much! It is so important for us that our project is accepted, and that we will have at least potential students!
