Abstract The Ark of Art is a self-sufficient, sustainable and independent ship where the permanent crew members use their qualifications to create value for the people at and around the harbors where the Ark anchors. The Ark of Art is based on an understanding of our World as inherently interconnected on all levels, and that context is key to creating value for people. For that reason, the Ark deals with our global issues on a local level, by coupling the human and scientific resources aboard the Ark with local communities with their context, to solve pressing problems. With a moving ship and moving people, positive waves will be created, on both a small and big scale. We want this ship to show the way towards a caring society, where diversity is seen as an opportunity. Enter, Ark of Art Ark of Art is created from a value set of an emerging paradigm. One where problems and everything else are recognized as part of systems. One where it's given that "the only constant is change", and experimentation and iteration is natural. One where people are not only taken into account, but embraced in the process and nurtured to live to their fullest potential. Instead of fighting the negative, we chose to focus on creating what we believe is needed and showing what kind of society we want to live in. The Ark of Art is one of many projects acting from this. Take Gaviotas, a village of 200 people located in Colombia. The United Nations have named Gaviotas a model of sustainable development and the founder of the village, Paolo Lugari, has been called the “inventor of the World”. What distinguishes Gaviotas and other initiatives likewise from the Ark of Art, is that it breaks with two common limitations of local initiatives: That the initiative commonly will be created by people from the local context, and therefore a limited local outlook. That the initiative itself won't spread. But with the mobility and capacity of the Ark of Art, these are no longer present. The incredible diversity of perspectives, culture and knowledge naturally gives a global outlook, and the mobility makes scaling natural, and exchange between countries and cultures natural. The Ark will carry huge aspiration, an intellectual and inspirational capacity unheard of, and great ideas - across our globe. It will be the change we want to see.

Abstract
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Ark of Art is a self-sufficient, sustainable and independent ship where the permanent crew members use their qualifications to create value for the people at the harbors, by solving problems on different levels. The core idea of the project is that everyone on board does what they personally love to do. Being happy with what you do, naturally generates a surplus of energy which will be used to do projects that helps people around the world as well as the planet. On the ship, there is a number of creative rooms where the crew members can unfold themselves and use all the facilities and materials for free. Additionally there are research facilities and laboratories for scientific development. When selling a piece of work, half of the profit goes to the individual, the other half to the ship. The ship and it’s permanent crew sails from harbor to harbor worldwide, so when a new destination is set, the research team starts to investigate what need or challenge is the most urgent to solve in that country. When the theme is set, everyone on board works project based and starts to generate ideas for new solutions for the challenge of the new destination and how to implement it. The revenue stream of this project will mainly come from sponsors, but also from sold art pieces, clients that hire the crew for problem solving or scientific development etc. as well as from concerts, exhibitions, workshops and lectures. We estimate there to be many interested investors and sponsors, since it is for the benefit of the world and the people. The land team, which is in close contact to the ship, prepares and invites the people and the government that are about to be visited. During the time that the ship is anchored in a harbor, anyone with curiosity can come on board and join any of the ongoing activities. Everywhere in this world there are different problems and challenges that have been calling for a solution for many, many years. In some places, the issue lies in choosing what to do with your life because of an overload of options while at other places it is an everyday struggle to find clean water and food. The Ark of Art will serve as a platform to exchange and generate knowledge and ideas for sustainable solutions and social innovation, and thereby be a living proof of how to create a caring society. It is an action based role model, that shows that cooperation is very beneficial and that it is possible to have fun while creating meaning.
